‘A Sense of Vision’

Omar Kashoura, Carolyn Massey, Lou Dalton, Morgan Allen Oliver, Satyenkumar and Forgotten Future presented their S/S11 collection at Stitch with an experiential installation. High-end boutiques, creative stores and like minded press were invited to ‘experience’ the Vision installation.

The Vision concept once again provided our visionary designers a platform to meet potential buyers within a ‘trading’ environment. Here’s what some of the Vision designers had to say…

“Great initiative, very happy to be part of it.”
Lou Dalton

“Great to feel supported and be raised on a platform within the event.”

Stitch Presents ‘A Sense of Vision’

We here at Stitch Menswear have transformed our Vision offer for S/S11 into a unique experiential journey whereby visitors will be encouraged to use their senses to experience the collections.

‘The Sense of Vision’ designers will innovatively display their collections within 3 stages which will capture the essence of each garment; stage 1 will test their touch sense, stage 2 will feature imagery to stimulate their sight and stage 3 will be the final interactive stage before they meet the designer at the end of the installation.

The installation, provided by SFD, will enable these select designers to be creative with their presentation whilst remaining within a business-to-business focused event. Director Brian Duffy comments, “This season we wanted to create a platform that was much more exciting for our Visionary designers, we are very excited about ‘The Sense of Vision’ installation as its something that will heighten the experience for the buyer and communicate the Vision of each designer.”

Working alongside Central saint Martin’s Hywel Davies and Louise Wilson our new Visionaries include Carolyn Massey, Lou Dalton, Deryck Walker, Satyenkumar, Forgotten Future, Morgan Allen Oliver and Omar Kashoura. Vision will take place from 14:00 -18:00 on Wednesday 30th June at Old Billingsgate Market, London. EC3R 6DX. Complimentary drinks will be provided courtesy of Babicka Vodka.

SS11 Seminar Programme

SS11 Seminar Programme
Following the success of the seminar programme at our last show, once again we will be presenting a series of seminars led by industry professionals.

Wednesday 30th June
Mud Pie (Trend Forecasting & Creative Consultancy):
1pm – The New Equilibrium

Details: Ben Harris presents Mudpie’s AW11/12 trend seminar
Topic: Now that consumer decadence has come to an end, ‘the New Equilibrium’ creates a stable path for future growth, bringing renewed opportunities for brands. The challenge for retailers is to think the unthinkable, accepting that the ‘consumer age’ entered a new phase. Today’s customer, no longer afraid of reality is adapting to a new model for living based on an alternative future that combines science and technology with social cohesion and collective influence. A new globally connected peer-to-peer culture has evolved, producing a refreshed sense of community as consumers re-examine the concept of ‘truth. As the environment continues as the defining issue of our age we are set for an energy revolution and a plan of action with longevity firmly in mind. This will provide inspirational colour, graphics, prints, shapes and styling for the menswear market.

LFN (London Fashion Network): 3pm – ‘Meet The Buyers’
Details: Hosted by Dale Hicks
Topic: The London Fashion Network invite you to join one of their most popular seminars to date, where the UK’s top buyers cover topics such as key trends for SS11, trend forecasting, tips for picking up new brands, the next big thing… The debate will end with a Q&A section.

Thursday 1st July
F2IT (Fashion Software): 3pm – Get with the programme, get with Zedonk
Details: Presented by Richard Davies
Topic: Intuitive and straightforward, F2IT’s Zedonk is affordable online business software for designers and producers of clothing, footwear, accessories and jewellery to help them with their production and wholesale. Over 185 designers from 19 countries use the tried and tested software.

“Without Zedonk I am not sure there would be enough hours in the day to maintain an effective production and distribution programme. It has saved so much time and minimised errors to such an extent that we would be lost without it. We are a very small team and Zedonk has become essential with the added benefit that it is incredibly easy to use. Thank you.”
Lorraine Abela from Roland Mouret

“Not only is Zedonk a great product, it is also operated by a great company. Not one of my other service suppliers is so immediately communicative and so thoroughly helpful as F2IT.”
Matt Grey from Social Suicide

The seminar will include a short demo about how the software system can revolutionise the way brands and designers work, followed by a short Q&A session.
Please email seminars@stitchmenswear.com to reserve your seat at any of the above as places are limited.
